The SVA Library uses a proxy server to connect our users to our licensed databases from off-campus. It requires you to login with your MySVA credentials. 

The most common issue users experience when trying to access our databases from off-campus is the reloading of the proxy login page. You may get the message that login was successful, but then the page returns to the login fields:

If this happens, here are some things to try:

  • Make sure you're only entering the username portion of your MySVA credentials, not your full email address.  
  • Type your credentials in, don't use saved passwords.  
  • Clear your browser history, cache, and cookies. 
  • Make sure that Javascript is enabled in your browser. Here are directions for enabling Javascript in Chrome.

If you continue to have trouble, Ask Us, and please include as much information about the problem as possible: where are you accessing the databases from? Did you click a link from the library website? Please attach screenshots if possible.
